back when i was a kid and you had to take film to be developed, in spring one day my mom came running in talking excitedly about having a bluebird on the lawn! we’d never had a bluebird before. she took an entire roll of film of it and drove down the mountain to hand it in to get developed that night. a week later we got the film back, picture after picture of a little round blue blur with a tiny blip of red in a big green field. 30 years later and once in awhile one of us will still come running in saying we’ve seen a blue golf ball on the lawn and you all have to come see
